Art of The Tin Toy

These are very simple - the prime objective being that you, the collector, are happy with either the advice we have given or the purchase that you have made. In turn, we get pleasure from watching our clients’ collections grow and improve.

David, having built up his own significant collection, is happy to pass on his expertise to help build clients’ collections. This is best achieved on a very personal and ongoing basis often involving almost daily emails. The finest toys often do not appear openly for sale but are discreetly passed from one collection to another. Having an intimate knowledge of many collections, David is in a strong position to help acquire or broker a special toy. We are always willing to give free advice on identifying early toys but advice on values is chargeable.

The standard fee for brokering or purchasing a toy at auction is 10% plus costs but we are pragmatic and the fee can vary depending on the value of toys bought and the time involved. We have a deep belief in the old maxim that the best deal is the one that works for both parties.

Whenever we broker or buy at auction for a client, advice, condition reports, packing and shipping are included as part of our service.
